Behold (Then Sings My Soul)

Been trying to get into 2 habits- firstly, talking to God, and secondly, keeping fit- and what better way than to combine them into a single activity?
Went for a jog on Sunday Night to clear my imploding thoughts (I would do a word cloud but the thoughts are really too personal) and 'Behold' was the song that played when I opened Spotify.
As I listened to the song and ran, while thinking about all these thoughts- God showed me so, so much. He gave me comfort that in the Race of Life which I run, I have not reached the goal. I am still lost, confused, and I still struggle- and yet, that is okay, because my struggle helps me grow in God, when I continually place my stubborn will into His hands.
From there, He then showed me why I struggle:
1. I struggle because I want to go my own way, and I want to go my own way because I don't believe that God has the best plan for me.
1.1. because I believe that what I want = what is best for me.
1.2. which does not make sense, because I know for a fact that all the times I have tried to go my own way, I have had to bear the negative consequences of it... so how could my way be the best plan for me?
2. I think this way (1.1.) because I've been letting the world's values (i.e. the current ruler of this earth's values, which is satan's values) seep into me, unintentionally. I may not be intentionally reading books on the world's thoughts and the world's 'wisdom' and the world's values, but...
2.1. we are never status quo, even though Satan likes to make us think that we are. We think that when we are not saturated in God's Word, we are 'running on battery'.
2.2. But no- we are not like laptops with batteries, as Satan likes to make us think we are. We are more like desktops, always needing to be connected to a Power source in order to run.
2.3. This means that when we are not running on God's truths, we are actually running on the world's beliefs aka Satan's lies.
What does God say about how often we should be connected to Him (reading His Word, communicating with Him, being “in the Spirit”)? Is it once every morning and once every evening?
(: do you really know?
