Scars to my... beautiful?

My favourite dancers are the ones who tell stories with their craft. Saw this vid on my feed and didn't regret clicking it. Made me consider the struggles of human living and how we strive all the time with self-doubt and self-criticism #itisreal #butalsoitispride #somethingGodhasbeenteachingmerecently
It's certainly not wrong that we are beautiful, for we are made in the image of God. And no one ought to tell us we are not--- in that aspect.
But this "made in the image of God and therefore beautiful" truth is merely 1 side of the whole truth which is multi-faceted.
From another side/perspective, we are definitely also sinners. Who sin. And... who take pride in our sinfulness, even.
We gloat at the misfortune of others who have "done us grave wrong".
We feel superior to certain people.
We hate people to form wrong impressions of us, yet we form impressions of others all the time and believe we are right.
We see only what we want to see and we hear only what we want to hear, and yet we condemn others for doing the same thing.
We are beautifully made in the image of God, but sin HAS indeed also scarred- disfigured- mutilated us.
And no one can heal us from it except God.
Yet we choose, every day, to go on living our lives without Him- even Christians-,
doing what we want and
ignoring that THE VERY FACT THAT WE ARE STILL BREATHING NOW IS MERCY FROM HIM who sees us with our self-seeking, self-pleasing intents.
That ANYTIME we can go. ANYTIME we can die. And then... what?
Regret?
When we wilfully chose to go our own way while God was still patiently waiting for us to turn back to Him?
